Default Trivia in Saturday's 6th at Gulfstream

Among the many firsters in tomorrow's 6th at Gulfstream is a horse named Fearless Vision who despite the unsexy matching of Vision and Verse and Love Tunnel sold for a rather remarkable $250K as a yearling. Garrett Gomez, who is in town for the Sunshine Millions picks up the mount for trainer Patrick Reynolds, who has not won with a first time starter in over five years.

Other than DrugS, anyone want to tell me what filly ran second to the dam of this firster in their debuts, and why that filly is of note?

Wow ! is right.

I looked at the race. There are some very very impressive looking first time starters in this race. Do't want to talk about every single one of them - just 2.

#2 Gold West - the dam has 2 winners from 2 starters with 1 stakes winner. sired by Gone West ($125k) sold for a bargain at $150k.

#5 Avenstoke - the dam has 7 wnners from 7 starters with 3 stakes winners. sired by Street Cry.

I like the other Street Cry (albiet chalk-ier one) better. Top selection in here is Dragon Fi played with Gold West & Street Magician.

Gold West is a half to Sweet Catomine. Wygod selling that horse isn't a good sign, and the fact that with that blood, he barely went for the stallion cost, to me, means he has some serious issues.

I don't know about that. It's hard to be too impressed with a domination of the likes of Icy Atlantic and Go Between....especially considering Go Between's mediocre trip. Those two are FAR from really good horses. Useful at best.
