Default Best Comeback by a horse in 2006

my vote goes to the lovely filly Round Pond for winning the BC Distaff after a less than stellar campaign filled with so much promise and anticipation. Well deserved for Prado and Matz after what they went through with Barbaro

Maybe not with Stewie and Servis, but Round Pound I love ya girl. Glad you showed you still got it

for a racing comeback, you'd be hard pressed to find a better story than round pond.

there's also lava man, who was almost retired last year. yeah, he didn't win the bcc, but only one horse CAN win it. won everything else this year.

Badge of Silver for me. Who would have thought that horse would come back at all. Not to mention a third in the Breeders Cup Mile and a 2nd in the Cigar. Not too bad all.

Thanks. I still will never forget my reaction when I read Frankel was entering BOS in The Mile. I thought it was a joke. I still thought he would be scratched. I still didnt totally believe it until the race started and I saw him come out of the gate.

How about Barbaro? He was given about a 10% chance to survive then he had the complications.

2nd in the Cigar is BS, but I agree with you regarding the BC Mile.

I completely discredit 2nd place finishes in 5 horse fields, regardless of who you run 2nd to

I disagree and grudgingly have to admit that running a horse off a layoff that long in the BC mile first time back and getting third, and then running a winning race in the Cigar to a horse who has been annointed as the next coming 4 weeks later is one hell of a comeback.

Barbaro has my vote (not that i have a "vote"). I know it wasnt a comeback on the track but he deserves the award simply for his sheer will to LIVE.

How about Miesque's Approval? He was a stakes-winner early in his career, a $50,000 claimer late in 2005, and BC Mile winner in 2006.

Ok in my opinion your opinions are consistently without merit?
Happy now?

Furthermore Euro, if you had better reading comprehension skills, you would see that my opinion was completely agreeing with yours!!!!!!
Badge had the best comeback to me.
Round Pond was running awesome races in the spring and her comeback was great.
But Frankel's job with Badge and his performances off an injury layoff that long were just great.

Brass Hat started his comeback in 2005 but to get second in the World Cup is incredible and deserves my vote for comeback horse. If he returns and keeps winning he'll go down as one of the toughest horses ever.

If my opinion is without merit then why do you agree with me. Man, you are like a woman--constantly talking in circles.
