Default Vic Stauffer booted by Gulfstream

Larry Collmus? I know it was between them two in 2002. I guess he found out via E-mail, pretty weak IMO.

They obviously just want to turn it into a casino, I paid attention to there, thus played more wagers there because I like his race calls......

Dooley to GS, Vic to AP?
How about a straight-up trade?

arljim im dissappointed in you. you'd trade the game's most underrated caller for one of the game's most overrated callers?

sad sad day. I have already felt so lucky that Arlington had John Dooley and I love being at the park and listening to his calls.

matter of opinion i suppose

Sorry man, not trading Dooley for Vic, I would settle for them alternating races.....Vic should call Hawthorne

Oh don't get me started!
Yes i find that i'm in the big minority on this but i don't like his calls at all or the sound of his voice. we've gone over it several times and i have went into details why. its just a personal preference. if i'm honest, i have to say he is one of my least favorite callers. he is accurate but i just find his calls goofy and he tries so hard to find strange ways to say simple things.

Wow,this is big news! But you know, you never know if you can EVER trust Magna. They screwed Michael Wrona when he was at Lone Star. For Vic,I am glad to see he is free of Magna entertainment.I bet TVG picks him up for the winter. He has done a lot of work for them before.

fair enough, i must not have been around for the initial discussions.

but really though, when he says "up and on this gallop," for the longest time i thought he was talking about seafood because it sounds like he is saying "up and on this scallop."

mmmmmmm, seafood.

and yes, i will defend his worth as a race caller until someone better comes along. In all honesty, there is no one i would rather listen to calling races. durkin, stauffer, denman included. i think he's fabulous. really is a personal preference and i respect that

I mainly don't like the sound of his voice. he sounds like his nose is plugged up. i give you that he is technically good. but it's just an odd quality, like the races don't sound important when he calls them. it may be just me but that's how i feel. i don't know if i've ever had anyone agree with me. my opinion is also shaped by how he does the local preshows and the in between race announcements.
