Default 3/24: Fair Grounds (7th-11th); X-Country P4; Santa Anita ($262k P5 C/O)

FAIR GROUNDS

PRE-SCRATCHES

7th: MSW, 3yo-F, 1m-T (P3, DD)

Proctor stretches out Aspening and she'll appreciate it; Real Sister has enough turf in her pedigree to take to it and at 15-1 the price is right; Firster Maybe Wicked from dangerous Cox is a full to turf tigress Mizzcan'tbewrong (5 W's, $178k) & GSW and G1 placed Money'soncharlotte..

Most Likely: #6 Aspening 9-2 7th
Best Value: #4 Real Sister 15-1 4th
Next Best: #10 Maybe Wicked 7-2 2nd
Exotics Use: #5 Tizaprincessa 6-1 3rd

8th: 93rd New Orleans H. (G2), 4+, 9f (P4, P3, DD)

The Player is loose up front and should be tough to real in. Scuba, who looked finished at one point in the fall, has been refreshed wintering in NOLA..

Most Likely: #1 The Player 9-5 DNF-Pulled Up
Next Best: #5 Good Samaritan 8-5 WON ($4.60)
Best Value: #3 Scuba 9-2 3rd
Exotics Use: #6 Leofric SCR'D

9th: 26th Muniz Memorial (G2), 4+, 9f-T (P3, DD)

Terrific (though somewhat paceless) edition of this event that honors widely admired Fair Grounds racing secretary Mervin Muniz Jr. As discussed with Gary Stevens while remember Thunder Gulch this week, Lucullan ships in for KMc and looks poised for step forward after sharp 4yo debut in Florida. Already credible here, it would be appropriate for Forge (Dubawi/Heat Haze) to run well for Juddmonte today with his 2nd dam, legendary Hasili, having passed Friday..

Best Value: #6 Lucullan 8-1 6th
Next Best: #9 Forge 9-2 7th
Exotics Use: #8 Mr. Misunderstood 5-1 4th
Super Add: #4 Arklow 10-1 2nd

10th: 51st Fair Grounds Oaks (G2), 3yo-F, 8.5f (Black Gold P5, P3, DD)

Too much pace on to not look for presser/off the pace players. Geroux takes over on Eskimo Kisses and should save ground setting up shop midpack. Wouldn't give up on Wonder Gadot just yet..

Best Value: #4 Eskimo Kisses 9-2 2nd
Next Best: #8 Wonder Gadot 3-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #3 America's Tale 10-1 7th
Super Add: #1 Classy Act 5-2 4th

11th: 105th Louisiana Derby (G2), 3yo, 9f (P4, P3, DD)

Pletcher's Derby prospects continue to rise after Magnum Moon's impressive Rebel effort last week, Noble Indy appearing ready to punch ticket today, Audible's return next week in FL Derby and a host of others for Wood, Blue Grass, etc. Blinkers go on the Repole/WinStar bay, but don't think Velazquez wants to be part of a pace battle which could develope.Stevens will need to get position inside with Bravazo. Lone Sailor (mid pack) and My Boy Jack (deep closer) will come from off the pace. The prospects for Lone Sailor go beyond the sentiment attached to the G M B Racing colorbearer, as discussed last Friday with Tom Amoss in the wake of patriarch Tom Benson's passing. Solid at 2, the Majestic Warrior colt was flummoxed in the season-opening Lecomte with blinkers and an inside trip, but better in his ALW try closing into a slow pace with the hood removed..

Most Likely: #2 Noble Indy 7-2 WON ($7.40)
Next Best: #1 Bravazo 7-2 8th
Best Value: #8 Lone Sailor 20-1 2nd
Exotics Use: #9 My Boy Jack 5-2 3rd
