![]() Picking a venue for the weekend before the BC races is always a thankless task. Most of us are looking forward, and top stakes races are limited.
I'm looking at 4 possible choices, with some more promising than others. They are as follows: 1. We could go back to Belmont, where we will find the Grade 3 Bold Ruler, the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm, and the ungraded Awad. 2. We could head West to Santa Anita, to find the Grade 3 Autumn Miss. This could have an added benefit of a "race over the track", although in my experience the track condition on BC days can be very different than on normal racing days, so the benefit may be limited. 3. We could go to Indiana Grand for a group of slots inflated stakes races for Indiana breds. 4. We could go to Mahoning Valley for a group of slots inflated stakes races for Ohio breds. Right now, I'm equally divided between options 1 and 2. I'd welcome any thoughts all of you might have about your preferences. I'll post my final choice sometime on Wednesday. |

![]() I'd go for option 2. My reasoning is A) no one in our contest can pick a winner at Belmont and B) Santa Anita doesn't have a Grand Slam <grin>.
