Identified all the winners in the HollyPark P6 Friday, but stringing them together proved tricky. Defrayed expenses with late P4 hit which was nice. Fun sequence. Hope everyone did well! Carryover in New York on interesting, challenging card and more Inglewood action Saturday..

One of the days most anticipated MDN events with Long River, Darley homebred son out of ("o/o") Round Pond returning from the same two races that produced Mudflats (90 Beyer) last week. The other half of the entry, Incognito, happens to be o/o the terrific MG1W Octave who went 13/4-7-2 in 2006-07 for Starlight and Todd Pletcher. Octave won the Mother Goose & CCAO, was second in the KY Oaks, BC Juvenile Fillies, Ashland, Cotillion, Matron and FG Oaks and was third behind Ginger Punch and Hysterical Lady in the BC Distaff at Monmouth, closing from far back on the sloppy track..

Slightly obscure choice for a stake name, though the Sunny Jim Fitzsimmons-trained Sarcastic was a solid Phipps Family citizen in 1959-61 winning the Gazelle at 3 and setting a track record at Atlantic City as heroine in the 1961 Miss America Turf H. She died as a young broodmare, but not before dropping 1967 2yo Champion Vitriolic who won the Saratoga Special, Arlington-Washington Futurity, Champagne and Pimlico-Laurel Futurity for the senior Mr. Phipps and Eddie Neloy. Sarcastic shows up in one recognizable name from recent memory, as the 5th dam of the venerable 10yo Langfuhr gelding Fuhrever Dancing who won $670k in 89 starts including Western Canadian stakes. His career has been extended by the synthetic tracks and while turned out for the winter in Ocala, trainer Tim Hamm expects him back as an 11yo in '13..
