Default MD DQ's Dutrow Juvy Ch. winner; Owner Riccio appealing DQ

http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/h...,3090862.story

MD stewards had no choice here but to DQ the Dutrow colt. But the question is why did they allow him to run in the first place having arrived after the 2 hour cutoff to be on the grounds and when they knew he was getting a late lasix shot?

Owner Jim Riccio appealing the DQ. Says exactly what I was suggesting: MD knew the horse got on grounds late and got Lasix shot late and if they knew that, they shouldn't have let him run.

From both articles, it doesn't appear that the stewards were aware of the situation before post time.

Incidentally, the same horse won on both Friday and Monday at Aqueduct, with the latter being a win in the Jimmy Winkfield.

Rick Dutrow...you can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him.

LOL. Most of my horses can't even leave the stall in 3 days let alone win. He has an amazing quick turnaround stat over the years.
