I guess any publicity is better than no publicity.

Letterman had Dave Johnson call in to talk to him and made him thunder "and down the stretch they come!" cuz Letterman loves all that every year. Then Bill Murray came out and did a bit in character as a jockey, after which he spent the rest of the show still in jockeys silks talking with David. At the end, Murray got on a mechanical bull with a riding crop and sang "My Old Kentucky Home" complete with the old un-PC lyrics.

Then on the Late Late Show, Craig Ferguson had the interns dressed in a Secretariat costume come out for a dance but before that he tried to feed them apples. Obviously you can't put apples through the mouth of a horse costume so he put some in their front and back "horse pockets." Not sure if Leno did anything.

Leno's doing a segment at the Derby on Monday's Tonight Show. A comedian named Jim Norton is interviewing people like Baffert and John Velazquez pre-Derby for suggestions on how to pick the winner. He also hits up some Derby parties like Barnstable Brown. It seemed like he genuinely turned a bunch of hunch bets into a Derby pick of Animal Kingdom, but I suppose they could've edited it so it looked like he won. I'm not sure he's that good an actor though, he seemed pretty surprised, so I tend to think he did pick AK. He congratulated JV post-race.

Jeopardy had a "Sport of Kings" category tonight. I know it's a redboard, but I swept the category.

LOL... me too. Sadly, the contestants didn't know much (no surprise.)
