![]() Rather than argue ad infinitum about which horse from one decade is better than this horse from another decade, now might be a good time to introduce the Horse Championship Series. This will put an end to many a discussion, and will almost certainly result in a clear, definitive answer to the question "Who is better?"
Here is the formula... Career Graded Stakes Earnings (25%): Horses will get one point for every $1,000,000 earned on the track in OPEN company, and 1/2 for every $1,000,000 earned in RESTRICTED company. Career Eclipse Awards (25%): Horses will earn 5 points for each Eclipse Award, and an extra 5 points for Horse of the Year. Career Beyer Speed Figure Average (10%): The top 10 Beyer Speed Figures for each horse will be averaged together and divided by 10. If the average of the top Beyers is 105, you get 10.5, and the horse will get 10.5 points. Career Dedicated Threads on DerbyTrail.com (10%): 1/10th point for each thread. -1 point for every thread started by Doug Salvatore. Career Gallop-Outs Ahead of Horses Who Beat Him/Her (15%): Two points for every time a horse loses, but gallops out past the race winner. Kentucky Derby Finish (15%): 10 points for winning the Derby, 6 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd, 0 points for losing the Derby, -2 points for not running in the Derby. I have done the math, and the greatest horse of all time, according to my formula, is Indian Charlie. |
