Hannon, who has stayed home in England, was quoted on his website (richhardhannonracing.tv) Oct. 28 as saying: “America is not for me. I’ve tried it twice and didn’t like the place, so I will leave it to Richard Jr. (his assistant) and (jockey) Richard Hughes to bring home a fistful of dollars.”

I think had Germany actually invaded England, the Bank of England might have withdrawn their financing of the German war machine.

Good for him for not coming.... the dumber part when I read this yesterday was the jockey for Paco Boy possibly not coming for the Breeders Cup because he wants to compete for a riding title that he's five wins back of.

I did wonder if "Elvis" (oh how the US Immigration folks love their aliases) came from the Kashmir region under dispute by India and Pakistan. That would send up all kinds of red flags.

As obnoxious as I thought his remarks were, it's not hard to understand why Hannon might be upset with us purely from how his horses ended up doing here so we can only hope he's projecting. It sure sounds personal which I didn't appreciate. 2 DNFs, 1 of them a breakdown/euthanization, and another up the track finish from the one who did cross the line.
