When you pay $2 million for a gelding you'd think it would matter. Don't forget, this is the outfit that started Girolamo in one of the toughest Grade Is year in and year out off of a 10 month layoff. Something to be said for consistency.

The saddest irony is that there is a very good chance he would have won this year's Kings Bishop as it played out.

Did you notice Capowino, who won for them in the Spring/Summer at Belmont was also a gelding that they bought after his debut?

It really is sort of mind boggling. They buy him, ship him off to Dubai to run in a turf race routing, then give him a schedule that makes Zenyatta's look ambitious. Weird....

Yeah, another sterling purchase. He must have gotten hurt after that incredibly impressive allowance win at Belmont in June.

The Pennsylvania Derby probables right now are Trickmeister, Exhi and First Dude. In addition to having 0 graded stakes wins among them, they also all seem to be one-dimensional frontrunners. What would keep someone from trying a horse like Tahitian Warrior against them for a million dollars?

It's almost as though they don't want to get Graded wins because he's a gelding.

Maybe they're so humiliated by the fact that they bought the horse w/o realizing he was a gelding that they don't want to bring attention to it by winning a race that matters.

Why they bought him in the first place is beyond me. It just makes no sense considering their operation. But considering the half-joking, but half "wait a minute" comment...it does cause reason for pause.

Or maybe not...it just doesn't make sense.

I know they've made some silly purchases in the past...but really?

They employ Harty and Suroor.

Nuff said.

I doubt those two have 1000 functioning brain cells between them.

It's not like they don't have quite a few geldings...

Age of Reason, Whispering Gallery, Sabotage, City Style, Highland Glen... there are others.

Just sayin...

(I think Sugar Ray is one) (?)

That's like saying PG1985 is a great bettor because he's cashed a few tickets.

Please tell me you aren't serious about that post.

If you are serious, that is epic stupidity.
