Default Is This Finally The End Of Giacomo Goo-Gooism?

I know goo-goos die hard ...

... they're tougher to kill than New York cokcroaches ... but ...

... have the Giacomo goo-goos finally reached the end of the road?

Nah ... probably not ... they'll have about 32 excuses for his not winning today ... and 47 reason why finishing fifth was encouraging.

Nope ... they ain't dead yet.

Why ask the question when you answer it? Are you mentally retarded?

If anyone thought Giacomo had any chance in this rave they are insane. And if anyone thinks he will ever run competitvly in G1 races again without an absolute suicide pace is nuts. This horse is the 2nd worst derby winner ever, Gato Del Sol being the worst, and him being 9/2 i think was unreal. He should have been 10-1 in this field while a horse like Super Frolic should have been 5-1.

Ummm ... but you did take the time to read the whole post ... and to respond to it ... didn't you?

Wouldn't you say then ... that my writing style ... at least in your instance ... reflects a genuine ability to involve ... to stimulate ... and to communicate?

You do? Good ... I knew you did!

Ooooops ... there I go again ... asking questions ... and then answering them.

Just because you weren't intelligent enough to bet him at 50-1 on Derby Day last year, that is no reason to hate on the rest of us that were intelligent enough to make that bet.

It's called handicapping....try it sometime. And in no way did I use Giacomo in my bets today. Some of us are smart enough to know when a race sets up for him and when it does not. I have bet Giacomo one time and one time only in my life....and guess what....my ROI with him is FANTASTIC.

Ahh ... I see you didn't know ... that on Kentucky Derby day last year ... I was overseas on a secret mission ... dedicating myself to its success ... and succeeding brilliantly.

As a lifetime devotee of thoroughbred racing ... missing the Kentucky Derby like that was a great sacrifice on my part ... but ... I'm such a giving, caring, and genuinely noble person ... that I gladly took on this burden for the sake of all my fellow men and women.

Don't you feel bad now ... I mean really, really bad?

Oh...the shame I feel. I just KNOW a man of your intelligence would have loaded up on Giacomo last year.

Everyone knows that Giacomo is either hit or miss. He could surprise us all again and win the Classic if the race set up exactly the way it needed to for him.

As do I, but I know better than to throw out Giacomo because of a poor showing today.

Now ... you're finally making sense.

But ... I'm afraid I'm going to make you feel bad again ... because ... I have another secret overseas mission coming up soon ... which will cause me to miss many of the big races in late September and early October.

However ... I will be back in time for the Breeder's Cup races ... so I'll make it my business then to cheer you up again.

Yeah, Giacomo was exposed in the Pacific Classic for the type of horse he really is today -- a Monarchos Jr....he'll be lucky if Adena even stands him in Kentucky...

Actually ...

... I'll be rooting hard for Giacomo to be a successful stallion ... even though the odds are against it.

He reperesents one of the last chances ... if not THE last chance ... for the survival of the Himyar line ... or at least its non-Domino branch.

And there's a chance Giacomo may be successful ... because he doesn't have a drop of Mr. Prospector, Native Dancer, or Northern Dancer blood ... and just a smidgeon of Phalaris blood ...

... so he's almost a complete outcross for any top broodmare.

Please ... Mr. Breeder ... give Giacomo a chance !!!
