Default Don't bother HCPing for turf in FL Saturday....

It would be a minor miracle if they ran on the turf either at GP or Tampa.

I blame Mr. Chicago. He got his wish for some unforsaken reason.

I see there's been a ton of rain but I think they'll do everything possible, which may include Bigs and his Tampa posse hand-drying the course, to keep teh Hillsborough on the weeds tomorrow.

They will do evrything possible to keep that graded race on the turf though with the amount of rain it will be very soft. I cant see possible way the others stay on

It's still raining there, I think, and will for awhile. I wish them luck.

GP is under a tornado watch until 9pm tonight (subject to being canceled before then, I guess). It is DARK where I am at (about 10-15 miles NW), hail nearby.

SA would be closed for week....

Bigs Cantore reporting,

The Hillsborough will definitely be on. The rain is about done (we've had 6+ inches at my workplace about 15 miles north of the track), the winds are supposed to pick up considerably tomorrow (15-20mph) and the sun should be out. Both should help out the drying process.

The 4th and 12th will most certainly be off, I don't know if they will run the sprint on the grass or not. Since it is part of the pick 4, they won't have the luxury of running the Hillsborough first and making a decision after that running.

The main will be fast, easily before the halfway point in the card.

We got lucky, only a couple of inches. But about 45 miles to the north, in West Palm, they got 9 inches today.

Tampa's main track was rated good for morning workouts as 17 horses worked this morning. It might fast at post time for the first.

You're right, if it was good this morning, it will be fast by first post. There's not a cloud in the sky and it's pretty windy right now.

Their main track can handle rain better than any main in the country. Calder is a close second.
