Default Not to be confused with RA VS Zenyatta VS Goldikova...

Who would win this compelling match-up between the mothers of three of Pletcher's big horses?

The distance is 7 furlongs at Charles Town. A classic two-turn bullring race.

The #1 horse is Kobla - the dam of Quality Road.

Phil Teator has the riding assignment on the fields high weight of 124lbs.

The #2 horse is the not-so gutsy NY Bred Rockcide - the dam of Rule

Jason Lumpkins up - the assigned weight is 123lbs

The #3 horse is Silverlado - the dam of Aikenite

In an effort to prove he's finally as good a rider as his brother - Anibal Prado takes the call. 114lbs up.

Handicap away....

I'm going to go with Rockcide, cut back in distance and nothing to jump over.

If memory serves me correctly, that June 8th 2005 start for Rockcide proved to be a key race, as the 6th and 7th place finishers came back to run 3rd and 4th in their subsequent starts before being retired. So....Rockcide.

...unless of course the track came up wet. Then Kobla would be the obvious choice.

Rockcide has the high beyer figure and as Funny Cide's sister, I believe she would demolish the other 2

But Funny Cide is my favorite horse so I'm biased

What is so amazing is that these crows were even booked to decent stallions.

If I had a half to Funny Cide, I'd spend a buck to see if lightning can strike twice.

Summer Bird's mother also never managed to win a single race in her career on the track ....

But ... she'd have been heavily favored over that group...
