![]() Now THAT was horse racing.
What an epic race to watch ... two former cheapies with alchemist trainers going head-to-head almost the entire way and neither letting up after a 43.26 half mile. |

![]() I can't believe this race isn't getting more love.
This was like a Gatti VS Ward toe-to-toe brawl between two bitching sprinters. How many thousand times more fun to watch was it than one of those high profile Grade 1 synthetic routes where everyone trots along early, the field bunches up, and a looping winner takes it? Those races are the equivlant to watching great defensive fighters with big nerf gloves and headgear on skillyfull dance, duck, and jab in a super oversized ring. A pitty pat contest. Sometimes I wonder about you guys. How many of you sip on Cosmo's through a straw and smoke Virginia Slims? |

![]() He didn't run a single bad race last year.
The only not so good race he ran was in the Woody Stevens when Velazquez skillfully trapped him and he got in a world of trouble - and still he only finished less than 3 lengths behind subsequent Dwyer and Jim Dandy winner Kensei. He was also laid up for a bit after that race. |

![]() Notonthesamepage hasn't raced since the Fountain Of Youth - which was the start after the race he freaked in.
How awesome was last years Fountain of Youth? ... that race got a great pace figure and the sound version of Quality Road won it. |

The most amusing horse to me is certainly Buddy's Saint ... and not because he has the all-important triple digit Beyer in career start #2 at 7f or beyond angle (that fig was thanks to a perfect trip up a gold rail) The reason why I love Buddy's Saint so much is because he is the product of two of the all-time most unlikely move-ups I've ever seen. His sire Saint Liam was an absolute dog biscuit as a 3yo for a pretty solid trainer before Dutrow transformed him into a Horse of the Year. His dam Tuzia was claimed for 25K and ran dead last at 2/5 odds while with trainer Juan Serey.... That sounds like the kind of claim that goes on to never again win another race ... but Tuzia returns off of a 9 month layoff and negative trainer switch and runs four sick races in a row. ![]() |

Don't make Wolfson get his voodoo doll out. If you can wear a superman neck chain you can hang with the best of them
