Don't they realize the spot they are putting their other athletes in? You really want Tiger being constantly asked if he supports Nike giving money to a dog killer?

If they did sign him, I can't imagine any other athlete deciding they want out of their Nike deal because of it. That would be kinda dumb. Mixing business and personal feelings is not a good idea. Besides, I'd bet the vast majority of other athletes don't even care what Vick did.

We'd all be naive to think he was the only professional athelete involved in dog fighting.

Yeah but he got caught. People who would buy his **** would be endorsing dog fighting IMO. He's a scumbag.

There's a lot of people that are already buying his jersey. I saw something somewhere talking about jersey sales. He's currently doing better than the all-Americans Brady and Manning. I have one and I'm against dog fighting. I'm also not a murderer as scuds believes.

I think "vast" would be limited to the NFL, and the NBA.

I'm a huge fan of Vick as a player. I wouldn't care to be friends with him, at least what he was before. I don't know if he's changed sincerely but I never saw him as a role model or great guy before the dogfighting stuff. But as a player, he's one of the most dynamic players I've ever seen, if not the most dynamic. Plus, it looks good.

i don't get that. he had a mediocre arm and you had to build a very different team around his scrambling talents then you did with a drop back qb. it's not like you could plug him in anywhere and he'd be successful. if he had to throw, he wasn't in the top 50% of qb's before dogfighting.

and now he's older.

i think the redemption angle is interesting. he can be an example that you never wad up a human being. i wouldn't want that pressure but i'll root that he pulls it off.

but as a qb, i've never gotten the love for him and i still don't.

I know he wasn't a great passer but he's one of the most exciting guys with the ball in his hands that the league has ever seen. When he'd take off out of the pocket, nobody would leave their seats because you might see something spectacular. Just like Barry Sanders and Gayle Sayers.

I'd agree about the vast majority of NFL/NBA players not caring about what Vick did, but I also don't think they thought what McNair did was wrong.
