Default 8/1 DMR Race 5 Times Gone By

Was a very expensive baby of impeccable breeding. He has shown talent, but clearly has soundness issues. They've been working him long and I would think he is ready to go. Could get a decent price with his layoff.

I'm going to use him a bit.

Count on probably not getting that perfect trip again.

People out there actually taking $6.80 on winners?

I liked $6.80. He was pretty rank early and had way more in the tank. The trip wasn't bad, but I bet you he'll rate better next time and won't need as clean a trip. Too bad it'll be for even money.

He was tons the best. The horse down the center appeared to be making up ground, but Victor was just in hand on the winner, never really asked for run.

This might be true but:

1) the field was loaded with plugs

2) he got a perfect drafting trip behind/between until he got clear midstretch. which means that he didn't run to that point AND he ran after all the others: while they were pumping, he was waiting. a mule would explode after a trip like that.

Let's see if Victor can get him that trip twice in a row (and against better company). I wouldn't bet on Victor doing anything positive 2x in a row.
