What you get for a redboard over there.

I'm a huge fan of the "Photoshop this for $20" thread as well.

In a competitive home game two nights ago

Dealt 8, 3 off as the big blind

Garbage ... so I make the no-brainer fold.

Three dudes stay in the hand ... some raising activity commences.

Flop comes 8h, 3c, 8c.

Would've flopped a full boat had I stuck around!

Turn shows Kd ... river 7s.

Some big hairy cat who I didn't know takes the thing with trip Kings.

Am I kicking myself for not hanging to see the flop?

Hell no ... I clearly made the right call to chuck a garbage hand from early position in a tight-aggressive contest.

Bottom line: sh*t like this happens from time to time ... ya gotta roll with it.

At any rate, yours truly prevailed, rather comfortably I might add, at the end of this particular session.

Learning curve is advancing quite nicely ... ya twisted freaks.

he had pocket K's? you lost then. you made a good fold. even if you move all in on the flop it's unlikely he folds KK in that type of game, and he spikes his 2 outer on the turn and we're hearing a bad beat story rather than a good victory speech.

booth operator.

you definately made the right call

playing 8 3 pre flop is never the right thing to do. the only way you should have been in that hand is if you were big blind (or small I guess) and nobody raised pre flop.

lol

i loved the thread by the guy who broke into pokerstars servers through the chat feature and could toggle the doomswitch/boomswitch.

posting the pm's he received was classic but he should have included names.

that's a great forum phil. thanks for posting the link.

It's actually a really good forum for poker, one of the first on the internet. Seems like a lot of the guys on there have a Napoleon complex ("i'm a big winner, I play for a living" even though when they post hand histories they're always playing $.50/$1) but some of them have some great thoughts on theory and whatnot...
