Default The Green Monkey

Does anyone know if this horse breezed today? If so, were you there to watch it. If the horse didnt breeze this morning then he should breeze tomorow morning. It would be great if we could get a set of eyes on this work

Oracle--maybe your clocker friend will be able to see his work and pass along some info.

He did not. They are sending him out tomorrow depending on the heat.

Depends on where he works. If he works on the main track Joe will have the blow by blow. If he works at Oklahoma then he won't see him. He can only be one place at one time.

I don't think he will be a 10F horse. I bet he wins the BCJ and maybe something like the Met Mile at age 3.

Good. I would love to see him never break his maiden, but I doubt that is going to happen. $16M for an unproven horse is insanity.

Oracle, I have heard the same when he was at Louisville. I also heard some grumplings about soundness. The barn guy at Churchill said he didnt think he would win a Grade I. But I also heard that he is the real deal. I am anxious to see a work.

That's harsh. Its not the horse's fault he went for 16 million. I feel bad for the horse. He's going to be like the Arod of horse racing. All that money and it won't amount to much in the clutch. The Yankees will never ever win a championship with Arod on the team. Never.

No but the two groups of owners bidding on him were annoying. Almost as annoying as Steinbrenner.

That was said with a touch of sarcasm, right? Otherwise, I'll take that bet!

Well, I don't know if this horse will prove to be worth $16 mil, probably not, but if he wins a few it will be good for the industry. I really, really, really love to see a horse that was bought dirt cheap win,,, but let's think back and name the horses that were expensive and still won.... Someone go first...

Yep, he has to win the BJ Juvenile/Florida Derby/KY Derby/Travers/BC Classic to be a success, sad.

lucky for the horse that he has no idea the expectations he has to try to live up to.

if he's a success, no one will give credit--he's supposed to be one, not due to anything HE's done. but if he's anything short of a multiple gr 1 winning, record shattering, colossus at stud, he'll be judged a failure.

do you all know that ap indy was the first high price horse bought at auction who actually won back his purchase price on the track??

the green monkey has one on his back.

All I heard from folks I know is that he is a real looker, who has not yet been tested at any distance. A good 1f doesn't even mean he'll be very good at 6f. They said he could be anything from nothing to great, but Pletcher was definitely feeling th epressure to prove the owners right.

pressure be dammed. the horse doesn't care what he went for, and really, no one else should except the rich guys' accountants. we all know price means nothing in the end, except maybe for how big an ego the winning bidder possesses. not like these horses abilities and talent rises exponentially with the purchase price.
