Default Simulcast/Greyhounds.......

I'm heading to Gulf Shores the second week of October (4-11). Thankfully, my wife has allowed one day for me to get away from the family (there will be 20 there!) and go to the track. God I love her so.

I've never seen greyhound racing, but I also want to watch the Keeneland simulcast. I haven't had any luck finding a track that offers both. Can anyone familiar with the area help me out?

Pay attention to the "A" dogs dropping down that have drawn an inside post and/or have early speed.

Rock on

I take it you haven't been there recently. I used to notice that the 1-2-8 or 1-7-8 came in a lot, unless the track had been recently graded or Hooper's Hooch drew into one of the other holes.

Green Mountain was about as pretty a place to watch the races outside of Saratoga that existed. The Dogs there..um, not so much. They were just a little on the slow side.

Plainfield, whichw as mentioned earlier in the thread, tried to hold on against the onslaught of Foxwoods and Mohecan Sun just down the road. It is just an empty shell now.

The only reason that owners have held onto the greyhound tracks up this way is the hope of caino gambling coming to their state and thembeng able to have VLT's on site. Hinsdale, the Lodge at Belmont (formerly Lakes Region) and Seabrook have all gone to having almost eliminating live racing, simulcasting about 90 hours a week, poker rooms, and low stakes roulette, or black jack ($4 max) waiting for approval of a more expansive bill that may never come.

That's my suggestion as well. There is a nice greyhound track over at Panama City, but I don't think have horse simulcasting.
