Other tracks to go All-Weather?

Are there any other tracks that are considering going all-weather?
It will be interesting to see if any of the Triple Cown tracks decide to.

pretty much all the really cheap tracks that don't have triple crown races should change over IMO. philly,del,laurel,charlestown,mountaineer,hawthorn e,thistle,penn national,finger lakes, etc...

Come on, you know why, because all those "really cheap" tracks can certainly afford it? I mean couldn't you imagine Thistle making an announcement like: "hey, our purses are $90,000 a day, we think we can make it maybe another year without slots, our parent company's stock is on the verge of being de-listed and we're blacked out to ADWs." Sounds like a great idea.

By the way, in terms of being a "cheap" track, Philly Park has a better purse structure than any racetrack in the Mid-Atlantic except NYRA.

nothing worse than watching a typical race at philly park. Someone like scott lake vs a.dutrow with two 7/5 shots going out and running the other 3 horses off the track within the first half minute.

Arlington or Turfway are decent examples of cheap maintrack racing that is more playable with the fake stuff. I don't look to play it, but at least it's playable.

Give these cheaper tracks turf-like heavy synthetic and it's even better. But keep that minor league junk out of the major tracks.
Nothing worse than seeing a grade I race on synthetic. Sure the race has 12 entries and 5 moves, but I would rather see Aluminum bats in the Major Leagues.

i hope you're kidding. at the cost, and the struggle to maintain a track, to figure out all the quirks--i have to wonder if any track will make the switch now. certainly a struggling track can't afford it.

I think all TRAINING tracks should be required to change to poly track as more injuries occur during workouts.

AWT doesn't lessen injuries, it is producing different types of injuries.

seems this is ground we've trod over in the past....

pricci asked the question, " If synthetic tracks can't significanty prevent injuries and are more difficult and expensive to maintain than originally projected, why do it?"

i'd say it's a good question.

i think most of the tracks who switched did so to save money-since the surfaces were supposed to cut way down on needed maintenance, as well as keeping fuller, bettable fields when turf gets rained off.

That's what loans are for.
