Cal 3y olds

Looks as if the Cal "2nd and 3rd tier"are the ones venturing to the dirt to establish credentials. Imo these colts will not prove anything about the top Cal colts because the adapting is an individual thing and can not be applied to the entire group. I wonder why more of the real contenders arent taking there last prep on the dirt, I heard somewhere that Salute the Sarge is actually going to the derby prep or preview, whatever the CD race is called, and come back in the derby with a good result.
