Default Morty will be upset

What are the odds that if the Yankees once again fall short and Santana pitches well for the Mets that old Hank will pony up a ton of cash for CC? 2-5?

Santana's deal made it very hard for most MLB teams.

I guess you could say that's a big reason the Os traded Bedard.

Gotta let him go.Mistake by the Lake can't afford that kind of gamble...Gotham clubs can afford to blow a ton of money. They have shown this repeatedly.

I think that the O's did the right thing. The guy is no doubt a top pitcher but has been an injury risk and they got a potential star to build around plus some pretty good prospects. Even a guy like Sherill has trade value at the deadline that they may be able to turn into another prospect. They cant compete this year or probably next anyway and signing big dollar FA's has not exactly worked out for them.

Adam Jones is going to be a monster and they will control him for at least six years. He will probably be an all-star in that time. If even one of those pitching prospects they got back reaches the major then it was a great deal for the O's and it's still a good deal if they don't.

Default Have to think...

that a lot of club owners and managers are mad at the Giants and the crazy contract that they gave Zito. Santana and CC should thank Zito for all of the extra millions that they have gotten or are about to get.

Savage over in Cleveland is a personal friend of mine. I talked to him about this and advised him to trade the lout before it's too late.

I simply said...."Look. You finished --what? Over 5 games out front last year and you're telling me you don't think you make the playoffs this year without him? Say it was 6 games. He could have been 14-12 instead of 19-7 and you still would have won the division. Now he becomes easier to replace doesn't he? One thing is for sure. You being in the playoffs again this year---his performance you're not going to miss."

I think he got my message.

They wont be mad when they get to play them this year. They have an embarrassing lineup. They have a couple of good arms but the offense is just a travesty. They will be lucky to win 60.

I meant Shapiro and not Savage. They're both personal friends of mine and look very much alike.
