Default CALDER BOOST: Miami-Dade Slots a 'Yes'

http://www.miamiherald.com/548/story/398971.html

Miami-Dade slots measure a runaway winner 3 years later..

Calder, Flagler Dogs, Fronton gets permits... (And 'yes' vote adds another sliver of hope for saving Hialeah as well.)

It's great that they voted yes, as we have discussed on ATR it will help the possibilities of reopening Hialeah and continue to improve the good product at Calder. HOWEVER... granting the Hialeah slots parlor hinges on getting the racing license reinstated, and unfortunately I sense a long drawn out legal battle for dates. Hopefully Stronach realizes Gulfstream's product would also benefit by giving up a month or so from their current season and doesn't put up too much of a fight. (yeah right.)

As long as Hialeah is owned/or run by Brunetti, it will continue to be a failure.

Steve have you heard anything from the churchill End excluding the press release yesterday. Do u think they really intend to put Slots in Calder. I have heard some rumblings that if the vote passed Churchill would try to Sell Calder. Like I said it is just rumblings.
