farewell to joe gibbs

will remain as an adviser to snyder, but he has decided to step down. no doubt emotionally and physically drained. everyone knows about the on the field stuff, but he also has a 2 year old grandson who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
he was a class act as coach, and a deserving member of the hall of fame. i know he didn't accomplish as much in his second go 'round as coach as his first, and didn't quite meet the lofty expectations. but i will miss him all the same.

good for him, enjoy his retirement. he should have never come back, the game has changed to much.

Without a doubt, Joe Gibbs is a class act. I do think he came back to a different NFL. The days of John Riggins are over. I've never been a Skins fan but I was hoping they beat Seattle. Joe Gibbs is certainly a Hall Of Fame coach.

Joe Gibbs is a all class, a Hall of Fame legend. I do think this season was extremely draining for him. It was an emotional rollercoaster, early success, then a 4 game losing streak. Then the tragic death of Sean Taylor.

I think to rally this team to a winning streak that vaulted them into the playoffs, in a way was the best coaching job of Joe's stellar career. He's a deeply religious man, and I'm sure he made the best decision for his family. His wife Pat, and his family mean the world to him, and I'm glad that he'll get to enjoy his retirement more with them. I thank him for all the thrills he's given all us Skins fans over the years, and wish him all the best.

Greg Williams is a great defensive coach. If he does take over as head coach I hope he will do a great job. If nothing else, perhaps it will mean the coaching staff will remain cohesive. Granted he's had a shot with the Bills, and things didn't work out. I know Gibbs highly respects Greg, as do the rest of the team, and that is something an outsider would have to earn in time. Maybe he's got that going for him, and if he's the guy then I'll be on his side. Loyal Redskins fan that I'll always be!

only chuck noll won more super bowls.

and gibbs the only guy to win three with three different qb's. i'd take him over the stinky tuna any day.

I never really liked him the first go around or the second, but I have to admit I changed my mind towards the end of this season. He showed a ton of class over Sean Tailors death. Hope he enjoys his retirement. Is he already in the HOF?
