This was my favorite part.....

"Horsemen's representatives had openly bristled at the concept, saying it called into question the integrity of trainers and veterinarians."

Thank goodness. What a waste of money and time. If track mgt. wants to train horses, they ought to step up and do it.

Maybe they can throw that money at the barns.

Or some trainers can stop wasting horse players time - by repetitively scratching horses....and entering them with little intent to run unless they feel like they got lucky and drew into a perfect spot.

If that were the majority of, or even a good portion, of trainers, it would make sense.

The problem is - it seems like it's many of the ones who are too strong to ever be confronted by race track management for it.

Obviously - a Bobby Frankel is allowed to get away with more than someone who values the fact that they have stalls.

why not scr..if you are at some tracks at diff distances you have no shot.. ie gulfstream main mile and 1/8th 10 hole 1 for 326.. and that 1 was barbero..

the 10 hole on the turf at belmont at a mile and 1/8th... also crap..

you see my point.........

Agreed.

Maybe track mgt should use the money to buy some testosterone?

I doubt they've run 326 nine furlong dirt races at Gulfstream since the new track was installed. I remember reading when SNS ran in the Sunshine Classic that the outside post had horrid stats at 9f's there....but not like that.
