Next Great American Band
OK, I swore I wouldn't watch it but I caught it last week (week #1) and I was hooked, the 12 bands that made it through to tonight were diverse (a bluegrass band, gospel brother group, 12-13 year old heavy metal band, country band and a band from Philly that blew me away!). I think the two best are Franklin Bridge (great dynamic front man...singer and lead guitar) and Sixwire, an extremely likeable country rock band who are simply tight! Also, a punk rock band comprised of 5 hot chics...what's not to like? Two will be voted off tonight so there will be 10 next week...every one worth watching! Oh, and they did Dylan covers tonight...Preteens doing All Along The Watchtower was better than it should have been, great stuff! Brian, you watching this? Thoughts?

Watched it again last night...10 bands left and all are damn good. Anyone else watching? I really like Sixwire (country band), Franklin Bridge (rock, R & B), Clark Brothers (Gospel) and Rocket (all-girl punk band)...but the Bluegrass band and the "Big Band" group (think Chicago) are great as well. This is actually more enjoyable than Idol and very evenly matched imo!
