AUTHOR NOT TRAVELLING TO IRELAND By Tom Peacock, PA Sport Authorized's name appeared at the five-day stage for the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes but the Epsom Derby and Juddmonte International winner will not be travelling to Leopardstown this weekend. An oversight at the Peter Chapple-Hyam office was to blame for the colt remaining among the 10 left in Ireland's premier Flat race, and Authorized remains on target for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe instead. Chapple-Hyam said: "It was a mistake - I hold my hands up and I will not be declaring him. Authorized is fine, but he won't be running before the Arc." Aidan O'Brien is left with his customary strong hand to choose from in an event he has lifted three times in the last four years. The master of Ballydoyle has four possible runners, headed by last year's winner Dylan Thomas, who chased Authorized home in the Juddmonte at York last month. He also has the sometimes brilliant George Washington plus Archipenko, Duke Of Marmalade and Red Rock Canyon. Further lustre is added by the presence of the sole filly, Jim Bolger's dual Guineas heroine Finsceal Beo, not seen since disappointing in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, and Brian Meehan's Breeders' Cup Turf winner Red Rocks. Top-notch performer Maraahel and the ex-O'Brien-trained Mullins Bay complete the line-up. |
