Default Abrams is crazy

He did not rule out the possibility of running Unusual Suspect both on Friday and Saturday

UNUSUAL SUSPECT IN 2 RACES; ABRAMS LEANS TOWARD LA JOLLA

Trainer Barry Abrams, never at a loss for words or unusual moves, has Unusual Suspect entered in both Friday’s Real Good Deal Stakes and Saturday’s Grade II, La Jolla Handicap.

He said Thursday morning he’s leaning toward running in the $150,000 La Jolla, for 3-year-olds with eyes on the Grade II Del Mar Derby, going 1 1/16 miles on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course. But he didn’t rule out running in the $100,000 Real Good Deal for 3-year-old Cal-breds going 7 furlongs on Polytrack.

And, furthermore, he didn’t rule out running in both races. “If he runs in the Real Good Deal and comes out not too tired, I could run him back on Saturday,” the bombastic Abrams said.

History shows that he has done similar things with other horses – not that close together, but close, nevertheless. In fact, he saddled Spenditallbaby for a win in the July 22 Fleet Treat Stakes and ran her back to finish third in the Grade II San Clemente Handicap six days later.

....and how many races did Golden Man win after that....or start in for that matter? I don't know the answer, but I am guessing the answer is very few for both.

I said it in a previous thread, this is not a move for Graded Stakes calibur horses.

Barry is not in control of the barn and I wouldn't be surprised to see Unusual Suspect put the Saddle and Carwash rag on Barry and make him run both days. When Barry brings a horse to the ring you can hear the theme song to the Looney Tunes in the back ground. It's Cartoon time kids!
