![]() Today, the president invoked executive privilege to prevent White House
aides, Miers and Taylor from testifying in Congress. Here is a surprisingly unbiased article (for alternet) that might provide background: http://www.alternet.org/story/55718/ Story to follow. |

![]() Clinton used this as did many past Presidents...not unexpected in this case. The thing that annoys me is that this is simply politics by both sides...I'll say the same thing here as I did during Clinton's "Monicagate" fiasco, what we the people should demand is that our elected leaders, from Bush on down, spend more time addressing the real issues of the day and less time chasing each other's tails in attempts to gain a political advantage. The time to stand up to the policies and actions of GWB has long past...deal with the present, Iraq, poverty, disease, genocide, immigration...the past will always be the past.

And, Somerfrost brought up some good points. Executive privilege goes all the way back to Washington (if you read the first link). |

The first boomers go are eligible for Soc Security in 5 months. They're eligible for Medicare in 3 years. Health Care is out of sight. The earth is gonna blow any day now. Start drinking. |

![]() My only question is, where the hell did that $2 Billion go?
Not my way! I swear! There's nothing buried under the apple tree in the backyard. I really mean it! Geesh, if I came across that amount of money, I'd buy at least 1000 Green Monkeys, a gold coated Kubota, matching toilet, and a whole lot of very cool fireworks. |
