Default Pope Benny XVI

Seems the rat-zinger guy, despite pissing off people of the Islamic faith a few months ago (for which he apologized) has now gone out of his way to piss off Protestants.

well, it's kind of like when sharpton commented on mitt romney a few months ago--when he said those of us who 'really believe in god' will win the election--implying that mormons do not believe.
then there was something else i read recently about christianity being the one 'real religion'.

i'd say most people try to act tolerant of others' religion, but then in secret are smug in the belief that, unlike their friends who are sadly doomed, they are going to heaven.

I'm not talking about what you've got going with Danzig, Morty, other than to say that i think you owe her an apology.

Now, back to the topic, and I hope Pgardn reads this, cause Haggie, yup, the San Antonio guy, another one, has weighed in. Here's what he has to say:

Open mindedness not a Christian virtue...at least they aren't burning folks at the stake anymore, progress I guess!

it's funny, we're supposed to be progressing-yet we're really not! i wonder how many cardinals are now wondering just what in the world they were thinking tho...

Well, I often relate the teachings of the main religions to Plato's Cave, the following is a narration from Plato's Republic...man "knows" only that which he is taught and experienced in his reality:

John Paul II would not at all have been happy with this.
Think he would have slapped the rat man upside his big pope hat with his own septor. The Catholic Church just lost a few more members.

But this is not a popularity contest... they say when the rat man is sitting alone in the Vatican. A huge step backwards for the Catholic Church imo.

i agree. i've heard of putting a foot in your mouth, but apparently he is ambidextrous, as he now has both in there.
