Default Treatment of dirty politicians in China

"I ain't sayin' he shoulda killed her - but I understand".

The treatment of dirty politicians is definately different in China. In a story on MSNBC, a head of the government in China stated that absuses of power by the former head the Chinese State Food and Drug Administration “have brought shame to our administration and revealed serious problems. We need to seriously reflect on what lessons we can draw from such cases", so their answer was pretty clear - death.

The execution was carried out this evening. Man, could you imagine if the United States had the same policy?

If that was the case in the US, we would not have any politicians left standing!

How bad was this guy to be considered "bad" in a corrupt place like China?

Something about accepting like 850k in bribes from companies that needed to push their products through the system.

China is not on my list of places to be either, but with the pet food problems, the toothpaste with anti-freeze, and the 2008 Summer Olympic Games coming up, my best guess is that there needed to be a public display of what China is doing to assure the quality of food and medicines, both aimed at tourist markets and export markets for their "goods".
