![]() Back to Belmont for a contentious Saturday Card
Race 1: #7 Taming the Tiger, 3rd start off long layoff, drops back down in class #8 Military Major #3 Gaelic Sunrise, solid but unspectacular Long shot possibles: #5 Forget the Judge, 1st start off layoff, and #2 Broad Acres, solid dirt figs, could carryover to lawn. Race 2: A bunch of well-bred 2 year olds, watch the board, I have no clue! Race 3: 2 most likely winners, #5 Big Apple Daddy, and #6 Gold and Roses, both have ?? (layoff issues).. #4 Go Fernando Go, shortens up, has speed. #3 Executive Search, comes in with a few weeks off for the first time in a while, stone closer can improve. Race 4: Another contentious race, many horses adding Lasix after disappointing debuts, #5 Mr Zip, 2 solid races under his belt, most likely winner. #3 Treasure Mountain, #4 Royal Livingston, and #6 Golden Caesar, all were heavily backed in debuts, and would be no surprise here. #7 Seittam, comes in a tad slower, but goes turf to dirt, can improve. #9 Nicky Royale, 15-1 ML, fits with these, hard to disregard at that price. Race 5: #4 Metro Meteor, ran big 1st Contessa/Laudati, should be tough in here. #3 Redefined, solid, 2nd most likely winner. #10 Theconfidenceman, should run better 3rd off layoff #9 Trick Meeting, dangerous for Hough, but would have to improve to win this. Race 6: #5 Pure Revenge, has been caught very wide in all previous starts, could surprise with a better trip. #4 Seastate #7 Borobudur, 1st Frankel, 1st US start, could be any kind.. #3 William Tell for Mott, and #8 Intuition Magic for Ward, would not surprise. Longshot #10 Masterofthehouse, fits with these, 12-1 ML Race 7: #3 Forest Jazzy, comes off an AMAZING debut (fastest TG for 1st start I've ever seen), switches to Mott and the turf...Watch this one!! #9 Jambalaya Joy, 1st off the layoff, 1st Hushion, dangerous. #5 Prima Ballerina, looks like an Xplosive pattern, 10-1 ML #1 Glory Miss, debut at AC was very fast, repeat puts her in the mix. Race 8: The 4 horse Mother Goose, pace could play a major role in this.. #3 Lady Joanne, very solid for Nafzger/Borel #1 Octave, the other most likely winner #4 Boca Grande, middle moved in last, but would need to step forward to win this. Race 9: #5 Fairbanks, Pletcher west coast shipper, comes in off huge top, tough call #4 Corinthian, very solid, but distance may be an issue? I expect regressions from Hesanoldsalt and Political Force, but in a 6 horse field, I could be mistaken ![]() Race 10: While not the most likely winner, I expect #2 Kiss the Dice, to run well, 3rd off the layoff. # 3 Cranky Pants, 1st off long layoff, and # 5 Your Hour's Up are the most likely winners.. #6 Saturday's Cat and #8 Stately Pegasus, both just broke their maidens, solid but unlikely to win 2 in a row. #7 Haze My Man, lightly raced 7 year old, can improve 2nd off the layoff. Good luck to all, as always |

![]() Pre Scratches-
R5) 3 Redefined - Beaten 3 lengths by Metro Meteor last out; not confident that Laudati can repeat performance 2nd 7 Southern Prince - Nice turf sprint form, if speed holds, it's his. WON 10-1 4 Metro Meteor - Must use...proved against these last asking 3rd R6) 7 Borobudur - Respect Frankel's stats; the rest will enjoy watching him graduate SCRATCHED 3 William Tell - found his groove in 2nd start - cutback a plus USE 8 Intuition Magic in place of the scratched 7 R7) 4 Diamondrella - Proven turf - nice works coming in; Violette seems to have her ready to roll 3rd 3 Forrest Jazzy - Forrestry filly that should be respected I guess....Broke for 10k at first asking by 24 lengths...seems odd to give the condition away if she were that good R8) 1 Octave - logical single here though Lady Joanne may have something to say about it WON R9) 4 Corinthian - spotted the field about 4 lengths when he jumped out of the gate on Wood day - has been spotless since the rust shaker off the derby trail ending lay off R10) 7 Haze My Man - Steadied in the stretch after ducking around fallen jockey last out; nice form prior - Servis usually has them ready off intermediate layoffs 8 Stately Pegasus - lot of troubled trips getting to graduation; has what it takes if he gets the trip; Desormeaux a plus 5 Your Hours Up - good looking Freud for the JR/Pletch tag team - gotta include 3X2X2X1X1X3 = 72 Clams Last edited by Rudeboyelvis : 06-30-2007 at 03:47 PM. |

![]() Blew it - didn't get the scratch of the 7 in the 2nd leg till about 2 min to post and threw up the wrong one in it's place...0-14 maidens break eventually, with a 79 beyer coming in and JV up, Seastate should have been a no brainer...oh well
![]() Anyhow, we'll try to get them back with the late P4: 2,3,4 1,3 2,4 3,5,7,8 |

![]() Only Bleepin Dutrow could get a horse off nearly 2 years home in the first..
Forest Jazzy in the 7th was disgraceful, but it sure as hell didn't help the way she was loaded (slamming her head into the gate)... Why Calvin waited until Octave had passed him to start riding Lady Joanne is one I don't think I'll ever understand... And I wouldn't have played the winner of the 10th even if I could bet now!! ![]() Other than that, it was a great day at Belmont. |

![]() That one just never added up....I included her at the risk of eliminating others I liked (including the winner) but had an unsettling feeling doing so...need to go with the gut more often
![]() 35k maiden claimers in NY could win going away at RD for a dime....Got hypnotized by the Beyer, I'm afraid..Lesson learned! |
