NZ rider Lisa Cropp was devastated after Eagle Farm stewards suspended her for three months on a charge she had cost her ride Lilakyn a Brisbane Cup victory.
Cropp was last night found guilty of not riding her mount right to the finish line yesterday.
She had given a celebratory wave of her whip and stood high in the irons on the line as she believed Lilakyn had won the cup.
A photo-finish declared Newport the winner by 2cm.
"It was absolutely past the post. You can clearly see I have ridden right to the line," Cropp told chief steward Reid Sanders.
"The angle of the video is not great. I have rode her to the line and went up in the same motion. I pushed down to make sure I had her head extended."
Sanders said the panel considered several factors in reaching a decision.
Cropp, who has ridden 130 winners this season in New Zealand and holds a 14-win lead in their premiership, said she would appeal.

Bowman and McEvoy are doing very well here at the moment. Oliver was over round 2000 for a few months with Aidan O'Brien I think.. I agree with ya, he is a class jock...
