Not that it's a shocker, but my fav Indy race was the BC Classic. I was at Belmont Park for the Jockey Club Gold Cup and he just blew the break; Indy rallied very well to be a solid second, but this made 2 losses in a row, coming on the heels of a bad race in the Molson Million. He was the fav in the Classic, and he won very easily, in a hand ride. That was sweet vindication. Too bad Farish retired him - he could have done much more as a 4 year old. Now that I think about it, I think the Belmont would have to tie the Classic. I've was crushed when Indy had to scratch out of the Derby - I thought he was much the best, and he would win the race. Winning a Classic was just thrilling to me.
