Default Does anyone remember easing along?

I was just wondering the other day about claiborne farms. from the mid 80's to mid 90s, they had what must have been the greatest roster of stallions ever assembled. Not only was their roster filled with great sires, but also great racers that maybe didnt quite cut it in the shed.

Just some of the names they had in this time were secretariat, spectacular bid, nijinsky 2, danzig, mr p, STG, forty niner, unbridled. now, basically they have just stg, and a way overpriced pulpit, who astoundingly stands for 80k.

i went to look at their website to see if they had anyone else interesting, and i read this short piece on a horse named easing along. he won only 2 of 6 starts for around 50k, but apparently is making waves down in argentina, so they've arranged to shuttle him up here for the northern hemisphere breeding season.

I normally remember horses with a pedigree as nice as his, even when they run in ny, but i couldnt recall this one and was wondering if anyone had any good impressions of him when he ran.

i dont even know why i'm posting this, other then maybe i was a huge fan of easy goer and i loved that family. anyways, here's the story as posted on the claiborne website...........

First crop sire sensation EASING ALONG, a Claiborne-raised son of Storm Cat out of G1winner/producer Cadillacing, will stand at Claiborne for the 2008 breeding season. The farm has purchased a half-interest the stallion, who currently tops the freshman sire list in Argentina. He will shuttle between El Alfalfar in the Southern Hemisphere and Claiborne.

EASING ALONG’s first crop of 2-year-olds includes the impressive G1 winner Que Piensa Cat. After breaking her maiden by ten lengths, Que Piensa Cat pulled away to win the Group 1 Gran Premio Eliseo Ramirez by eight lengths and set a new course record in the process. In addition, another first-crop juvenile, Compasivo Cat, won the Group 2 Guillermo Kemmis.

“This stallion is off to an impressive start,” said Claiborne’s Bernie Sams, “and as an added bonus, he’s a son of Storm Cat who is from a proven sire family. We couldn’t be more pleased to introduce him to U.S. breeders.”

EASING ALONG is out of Ballerina-G1 winner Cadillacing, who is a full sister to Belmont-G1/Travers-G1 winner Easy Goer. His full brother, multiple graded-placed Lion Hearted, is a leading sire in Maryland whose offspring include 2007 Cicada-G3 winner Control System; and his half-brother Game Plan is the sire of 2007 Fair Grounds Oaks-G2 and Sunshine Millions Oaks winner Mistical Plan.

Bred in Kentucky by the Phipps Stable and raced as a homebred, EASING ALONG won his first two starts in New York at two, including a maiden special weight by 5 1/2 lengths. Half siblings Strolling Along (Futurity-G1, etc.) and Cat Cay (Top Flight-G2, etc.) are both multiple graded stakes winners.

EASING ALONG will arrive at Claiborne this fall after he completes the upcoming Southern Hemisphere season. His fee will be determined at a later date.
