Default Good day for the "Giant Killer"

Just a tip of my cap to a great trainer on a very nice day.
H Allen Jerkens had two winners and two places today at Belmont.

So nice to see!

Kelly K' Pleasure- 2nd in the 3rd.
Shop Again- winner 4th.
Prosperous Queen-2nd in the 5th.
Magic Momentum- winner 9th.

Back on track for this Hall of Famer, grand old man of racing.

Nice!!!

Great trainer. I willl always remember him as the guy who trained Society Selection. I was down to my last $200 after a week at Saratoga and I bet it all against Ashado and I bet it on Society Selection. I got over $1300 back. I loved that horse, I always go up for the Test and she won for me that time too earlier in the meet. That Cornelio Velasquez always comes through for me. Like most times I go to Saratoga, it rained on the day SS beat Ashado but it was the one time I didn't care.

I prefer "the Chief" for Jerkens but I guess he will always be the Giant Killer first.

Society is my girl! (hence the name)

I hate Ashado for some reason and I always enjoyed when SS took it too her. I was so glad SS edged her out in the BC this year. Although Pleasant Home won (and i had her too) I was 10X more excited about Society Selection.

The thing I will always remember about that Alabama was talking to Steven Crist that night. He was very bitter about losing that day and told me Society Selection may have won but 5/1 is hardly worth getting excited about. I was excited but his bitterness shot down my mood. He practically told me to go home and get my shinebox.
