![]() So much talk about the Derby preps, I thought I would look forward to all the great races next Saturday.
Round Pond looked terrible in her first start at GP, but goes back to Oaklawn where she is almost unbeatable. I heard Joint Effort, Ermine, Rahy's Appeal and Take D'Tour are all possible. Could shape up to be the best race of the weekend. |

![]() Good point LC, great cards all over the country this weekend.
Rahy's Appeal is a definite for the Apple Blossom after scratching out of the Next Move last week. Ermine is set to go, though I'm not sure about Take D'Tour. Another pointing to it is Tom Amoss' Baghdaria. She came back with a win at Delta about a month ago and should be ready to go. The story of the Oaklawn stakes on Saturday will be homecomings for Round Pond and Lawyer Ron. They have both proven themselves over the Oaklawn oval time and time again. Should be a couple of nice races. Toss in the best card of the year so far in NY, a good slate out west at SA, a better card at Hawthorne than you've had all meet, and the opening Saturday at Keeneland and you have a heck of a Saturday. Love some of the matchups, too. Nobiz Vs Circular Quay Latent Heat Vs Keyed Entry I assume Octave and Cotton Blossom will both be running this weekend, too (either in the Fantasy at Oaklawn or the Ashland at Keenland). Update: Cotton Blossom is entered in the Fantasy at Oaklawn on Friday, along with Cash included, high Heels, Swift Temper, Devil house and a few others. I assume Octave runs at Keenland on Saturday. ![]() i have followed rahy her whole career. i think she does very well here. if she is one of those females who grows up into her potential and thrives on running which i think mr. bush has realized after the time it took for her to refind her stride after her last layoff.
my hope is that she continues to run and has the opportunity to become the really extrodinary mare i have always thought she could be. after all i heard they only kept her in training after the fall because they wanted BLACK TYPE grade 1 history for the breeding rights. fortunately for me as a fan, she has shown exceptional amounts of talent which look as though will keep her on the track for at least the rest of the year. in the top flight of the mares division with the nyb program as a fall back |
