Default New Dubai track

http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/int...ai-desert.aspx

this looks amazing... I'm kinda suprised that they are going away from the "tri-oval" track shape.

Scavs, black gold is oil....The region has money from oil....But Dubai is smart and has become a major financial center b/c they know that oil in the region doesn't last forever.

It looks cool, but I wouldn't have the first clue to try and find a job out there

Built by slaves so the elite can watch horse racing. No gambling and no drinking...unless, of course, you stay at one of the fine hotels Dubai has to offer.

Really they can take their tracks and all the horses they buy and shove them up their royal ass.

Maybe the Sheik could buy Pimlico and Laurel and re-build those too. And they'd fit right in with the Maryland legislature since the politicos here don't want slots.....

After watching the Dubai coverage live at CBY yesterday, and then ABC's tape delayed coverage, I wanna move there too. I'll get a house on that man-made palm island they have there.

Remember, the thing is too- The reason for the words "duty free", are because it's a tax free zone. Because the Sheiks make so much $$$ with their "Black Gold", they don't need to tax thier people. That's why business especially are flocking there. That's why there are all those huge sky scrapers being built there (including what will soon be the tallest in the world).

I hear Nad-Al Sheeba is a pretty magnificant track itself, and I love it's design. So I'm not sure why the Sheik wants to build another one. But notice it's the most similar to an American track. It might be to attract more American horses, or to give the Sheik's horses more of a taste of an American-Shaped track (which means it was modeled after Charles Town and Fonner obviously lol JK).

But for us "degenerates" in here (I'm guilty as charged lol), spending some time living and working in Dubia might not be such a bad thing for us. You're right in the heart of Muslim country, so even if you wanted to, YOU CAN'T GAMBLE!

demand is still sky high--until people start staying home, it's going to be high.

Or a better alternative fuel comes available. Ethanol is not the answer either. They got the right idea, but it takes too much corn to produce the stuff.

Dubai reportedly is the black market capital of the world. Uranium, missiles, guns, etc.

Maybe,
but they put up a nice facade. That and with all these huge conglomerates and people migrating to the area, it's in the Sheik's best interest to crack down on this stuff.

Here's a pretty facade short vid
