Default Calder Extreme Day

The fastest daily double sounds like fun:

Extreme Day II Set for Nov. 25
by: CRC Publicity
Miami Gardens, Fla. (November 10, 2006) --
Due to the “extremely” inclement weather on July 22, 2006 -- the original Extreme Day -- the World’s Fastest Daily Double and the King George’s Wrong Way Stakes had to be cancelled. Calder brings back the highly anticipated events on EXTREME DAY on Nov. 25!

· World’s Fastest Daily Double: You’ve never seen anything like this! Two races run simultaneously – one on the turf (one mile) and the other on the main track (six furlongs). Truly, the world’s fastest daily double.

· $50,000 King George’s Wrong Way II Stakes: The King George’s Wrong Way II Stakes will be contested on the turf course going clockwise (right turns). In the United States, Thoroughbred racing is conducted counter-clockwise (left turns), but in many parts of the world races are typically run in the opposite direction. It all depends on one’s perspective as to which is the “right way” or the “wrong way” – but on Extreme Day, the race will be called King George’s Wrong Way II Stakes in acknowledgment of The King George VI and Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, one of the top races in the world, which is held at Ascot Racecourse in England – and run clockwise!

· $45,000 Fast ’n’ Furious: Thoroughbreds going just two furlongs, that’s a quarter mile. That’s FAST!

· $45,000 Methuselah II Handicap: According to the Book of Genesis in the Bible, Methuselah lived to be 969 years old. There is no record of any other human being having lived as long as this for which reason the name, Methuselah, has become a synonym for longevity. The Methuselah Handicap at Calder is for Thoroughbreds 5-years-old and upward.

· $45,000 Gray Pride Stakes II: All gray horses take to the track in this race!

Plus:

· “The Extreme Five” – Pick 5 wager – Try your luck…it’s just a buck!

· And the ever-popular Jockey Foot Race! No horses, no betting…just your favorite Calder jockeys!

WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 25

Admission gates open at 11:00 a.m.
First race post at 12:25 p.m.
