Default DRF Gripe

I don’t mean to be negative but the new display of entries and results on the DRF web site is practically useless to see on a smaller monitor or on a netbook or laptop (not to mention a smartphone). Please give people an option instead of forcing them to look at this new grotesque, cartoon like, enlarged version of essential information.

I know someone is trying to be clever and/or creative but “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it." I am not sure if it's just me or what?

Agreed. And the revised entries format is just as bad.

It would also be nice if they put the name of the stake race in the entries. Not just "150k stakes". Pretty crazy how they left that part out.

They should have left things the way they were.

That's true Pete. And the new formatting makes it impossible (or much harder anyway) to post the Stakes and regular races the way I have for years.

Good point. The results are also a mess. Before they had the pools/exotics on separate lines. Now it's all jammed up in a paragraph.

The only positive difference is the colors of each horse number. They should just go back tot he old set up and add the colors in.

The design was probably suited to view on a smartphone.

I don't get how they keep throwingthese changes up without a Beta period where people can alternate between to acclimate and provide feedback. Instead, they just make changes without any notice or regard for how true creatures of habit will react.

As it happens, right this minute, you can't even pull results up on your Smartphone.

Probably won't do much good but I emailed DRF to let them know my opinion. I urge all of you to do the same.

Are any group of people/fans creatures of habits more than Horseplayers?

Agree with all of you. Pull up drf online and bang the changes in place. If nothing else give your customers a heads up. Yes, we horseplayers are creatures of habit for sure! If drf ever quit publishing their paper I might go into fits that would last years.

Did Meras scam her way into the new DRF IT director's job?

This can't be the final product. On a laptop it's ridiculous.

The new design especially on the homepage is far too complicated, atleast on the old design you knew exactly where to go to access the information you wanted, now you don't know where to start, on the top of the page or the bottom of the page.

Fair point Coach... These are free info sections of DRF.com, but there has been a parade of these kinds of unannounced 'innovations' that seem to have no real added benefit to the presentation on the site.
