Default Bribon question

Why was the Met mile winner running in a one mile allowance turf race? Is it a prep for the Woodward?

Nope, it was a prep for the Woodbine turf mile (Sept 20th). It was kind of a test to see if he still could handle teh turf like he did earlier in his career. I thought he ran very well. Looks like the freshening did him wonders.

Personally a little disappointed he wont be in the Forego. That would have been the race at Saratoga he would have been pointed for. The Woodward is too far.

I have a better question, why was he only 2-1? That field was atrocious, he just came off an impressive grade 1 win, he has tons of turf breeding and has already had 2 wins over the turf. So its not like he was trying the turf for the first time. I had made a comment before the race to my brother asking why the horse wasn't 1/9. That price was a gift.

Be thankful for such gifts. They are the reward for paying attention.

Thank you Gander. I INITIALLY bet him to win in the Met on Youbet about 10 minutes to post. The talking heads on TVG said he was washed out in the paddock (I am too old and blind to actually tell even when watching in HD) so I canceled my wager and bet Smooth Air to win. Furked again. Whattaya gonna do? You pay yer dough and watch em go

Does this admission give me a free Red Board Card when I win one without posting it?

He is really good. He is a legit horse for races like, The Met Mile, Carter and The Cigar Mile. Now he also proves hes very good on turf. They can do some damage with this horse.

They said that since he's not BC eligible, they aren't pointing there so a race like the Woodbine Mile would be his goal.

Tam Lin still had believers.
