Default Exacta Question

I was just messing around while placing bets online. I am fairly new to the sport and hope this isnt stupid. I put in an exacta ALL/ALL and it shows $342. Isnt it almost gauranteed that the exacta at the derby would pay over that amount. I didn't place the bet was just messing around to see what bets cost. I just learned about wheeling. Just curious

It depends on the prices of the horses that run 1st and 2nd. If Fresian Fire beats Dunkirk (2 favorites), you will take a considerable bath on your bet. If Join the Dance & Mine that Bird run 1/2 you will make money.

Hope ya got it. Would have been about a $1700 profit if played.

Actually it was a $695 profit for a $1 ticket. over $100 better than playing $18 win on every horse.
