Super Santa Saturday....another nice day at the Fairgrounds. Interesting KD is coming in for one ride on Macho Again. And Julien returns..don't know if it's for the rest of the season.
Weather...a bit soggy down here, rain, snow, rain and now we have fog, visiblity near the Fairgrounds was 0% at that lakefront airport at noon today...but 10% rain tomorrow..20% Friday...and 20% Saturday, in the high 70's the next few days. They may save the turf for the Woodchopper, keep an eye on scratches for Thurs and Fri. and on or off the turf.

And on Macho Again going here I don't get it...1st try on the turf as a prep for the Donn. Guess they just want to keep him in Stakes, I haven't looked at the condition book recently but thought they would keep him on the dirt, but the only other stakes for him would be the LA Handicap on 1/10 non-graded. He had a workout last week and Chopper said he worked REALLY well, but I just never thought to ask him if he worked on the turf. Probably going to have to go with My Boy Charlie although he will be bet to chalk this time I'm sure...not like last at 10-1. Can't discount Evade with Julien up on the turf. Weather should be great, it's 79 degrees and sunny, drying out nicely, I still think the turf will be a bit soft. It's going to be a fun day at The Fairgrounds !! Quote:

Macho Again had no hope in the Super Derby coming from behind. The track and the race fell right into the hands of My Pal Charlie, who did not disappoint with that early inside move in the Breeders' Cup.
The reality --- Colonel John, Macho Again, My Pal Charlie, Mambo in Seattle --- these are the handicap horses for '09.
