Default Casino Drive's Journey to Breeders' Cup Begins

This should be interesting................

http://racing.bloodhorse.com/article/46140.htm

Quote:
Casino Drive, the Japanese-trained colt whose bruised foot prevented him from trying to follow in the hoofprints of his two Belmont Stakes (gr. I)-winning siblings, has entered quarantine in Japan as the first step to returning to the United States.

Owner Hidetoshi Yamamoto and trainer Kazuo Fujisawa said on July 14 that their ultimate goal for the undefeated son of Mineshaft this year remains the Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I), although he will first have a prep race in California. The Goodwood Stakes (gr. I) over 1 1/8 miles at Santa Anita Park on September 27 is a possibility.

That poor horse has logged more frequent flyer miles than Kasept! Poor guy, if they planned on bringing him back to the US to race, why did they drag him back to Japan to begin with?

he'd be the first horse to win the breeder's cup classic off of only 3 lifetime (including the Goodwood) races right? that'd be amazing

I've been wondering the same thing. If they planned to run him twice in the US including the BC, there is no reason to go back halfway around the world for a couple of months.

I think it has something to do with the quarantine regulations.

LOL @ calling a horse that has two career races "undefeated." That bar can't get much lower.

If there was a year to take a shot, this is it. Curlin won't show and I bet Big Brown is retire before the race too.

It all depends if Casino Drive likes the synthetic. If he does, he might not have to run a huge race to win.

Quebec City is great.

You know the waterfall outside of town....the one that is higher than Niagara Falls? I think PG went over it in a barrel.

Yeah, I hiked that waterfall. You are right about the city being great, and it's especially cool this year since they are doing their 400th anniversary thing.

One thing I noted to myself there though was that I didn't seem to talk to any idiots for a whole seven days, except for a few Americans. It was blissful!

That makes me think PG1985 didn't go over the falls.

I still can't get over how good the food was there, at pretty reasonable prices.

You have undoubtedly read his posts, but what you might find hard to believe is that under his current name he's only a fraction as ridiculous as he used to be.

He also thinks I'm the biggest PG hater on here, but he never knew that I got him reinstated a few months ago after convincing a moderator of his value!
