Default A year has past

A year has gone already since we saw the tragic scenes at Epsom where Horatio Nelson sadly lost his life.

Most will know he meant a lot to me. He was as close to being a perfect racehorse as you could get. He wasn't flashy, he wasn't bad tempered, he was just a quiet horse who gave his all, everytime he ran. He gave everything and just seemed like a brilliant horse to be around.

After his tragic death Kieren Fallon was quoted a saying:

"He was one of the best little horses I've ever been around, both temperament wise and ability wise. He wanted to do everything for you. That was his biggest strength. They are the ones you want to be associated with -the ones who can't do enough for you.

"He shouldn't have been beaten in the Dewhurst - although obviously Sir Percy has gone on to do great things, and good luck to them - and he was a horse everyone liked. I feel so sorry for the poor girl who rode him every day at home and was in tears.

"He had a lot of ability and we expected big things, and Dylan Thomas was bang there - I know how much better than him he was."

"It's hard not to think about what might have been."

His words, all very true.

It is true, Only The Good Die Young.

How fitting it would be to see Red Rock Canyon win tomorrow, 365 days after his half brother died on the track, doing what he loved. Especially for the poor girl who looked after Horatio and also looks after Red Rock Canyon.

He was a star alright, a tragic loss. I remember being a big fan of his dam Imagine and as you said, he just got down to the task at hand.. A lovely racehorse and he is missed by many..

Sadly, Red Rock did not read the script today and was yet again only second.

Red Rock is certainly talented but he's been a beaten favourite 5 times at 4/5, 4/7, 4/11, 5/4 and today at 8/11.. nothing like his missed half bro.

Wow, where does the time
go, a year already. That
was a very sad day, I liked
him too and was heartbroken.
(Hugs) to No Chance and My
Miss Storm Cat.
