Default what is your longest losing streak????

Ok folks, after telling you all about how ok my roi was i have now lost 13 bets in a row. So if anyone out there has some other good losing streaks story i would love to hear them. I missed the tri by a friggin nose in 9th at CD and was so upset i cursed at the top of my lungs. Its been a really long time since ive done that after losing on a race. Any tips to help end this streak? My mom says stop betting hey they run again next weekend right?

Just coming out of the worst three months I've ever had. My suggestion is to change something. Maybe it's the way you wager, the track you play, or even the capping style. Usually when I go south I'm pushing to win more instead of picking good solid horses.

Hope this helps for what it's worth.

I'm in the biggest Funk of my Betting career. Half of the problem is money management the other half is just the wrong plays. I teach school so most of my play is limited to Fri-Sun..that's part of the problem. I'm hoping that Saratoga will be real profitable. All I can say is maybe take a short breather...I plan on taking a freshening until Belmont Day.

Has your handicapping has been successful in the past? If so then don't change anything. Trust what you have been winning with. Don't make changes and start chasing bad bets to get even.

Last year I had 21 races that I didn't cash a ticket in Las Vagas. Almost all of them were in the race till the wire. Three weeks later most of them won their next start and at good prices. Thor's Echo and Round Pond were 2 of them in the breeders cup.

Suggestion # 2,156 in how to stop from losing 14 in a row: Be more selective.

The quickest way to end this to make a
ALL< ALL<ALL bet . You will cash but your money management will need work on it now.

I've been struggling greatly lately. I had a good run last fall and then it tailed off after the Breeders' Cup.

My work hours have not left me much time to play the races (working Wednesday-Sunday), so I've taken to coming home after work and handicapping races whose results I don't know yet and I've done pretty well handicapping those races.

So my confidence is back, though we'll see how it goes once I actually start playing again!

13 in a row and you are worried??? I go two weeks betting 3 tracks a day not sniffing the board on 90% of the tickets I play. I don't listen to myself let alone other people so no advice coming from here

I heard about a sports bettor, who allegedly was very good, who lost 27 bets in a row. This is not 27 horse race win bets; this is events involving just 2 teams. So 13 losing racing wagers is not uncommon by any means. I'd say in any losing streak, get more selective until the confidence comes back.

It's been the exact opposite for me the past week. A week ago last Saturday...I had $50 in my phone-a-bet account and today, it's over $600...all the winning wagers were between $5 and $10 bets. I've always considered myself a "two dollar" bettor, thus never been able to get lucky and cash the "big one". Got lucky in the 5th race @ Belmont on the 12th, the Black Eyed Susan on Friday & early pick #4 on Saturday's Preakness card. It's been a long time coming and it feels great! I just hope that during the Saratoga meet...it is profitable as now.

Roddy Piper? Had to be good. A few years ago on a flight from Chicago to Dallas I sat next to Terry Funk. He was wearing a pair of old wrestling boots instead of shoes. A very nice man, though with all the scars (the one thing real about pro wrestling is the blood), he looked older than his years.

While not my longest losing streak, I'm in the middle of a terrible stretch. I've bet three horses seriously the past week. One I was just wrong on and my p-3 was busted anyway. I also bet a turf claimer who missed by a short nose at 5.80-1 to a fairly impossible 20-1 shot I did not use. That nose cost me $4000 of winning wagers. A couple days ago I bet another turf runner at Calder named Carambola who went off at just under 2-1 in the last leg of the early p-4. I was live on $13 of p-4's paying $473 each. He got a clear outer flow trip and took the lead in upper stretch but was outclosed by a legitimate horse who got a great inside trip and beat my guy by two lengths. I managed to have a $25 exacta that paid $26, so I didn't lose badly.

I can take the losing (though + $9,000 would be a lot nicer than the - $700 I am on these three horses) but the combo platter of being very wrong on one, sort of wrong on another and fairly unlucky on the third is not digesting especially well.
