Default Sad News in the Catskills

I'll start by saying that my sympathies are offered for the family of the NYS Trooper who was killed today, and wishes for a compete recovery for the wounded Trooper.
Here's the story:
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/25/ny...rooper.html?hp

Margretville is a quiet little town, not too far from where I live. It's a friendly little town located on the East Branch of the Delaware River, a place I go to for the great trout fishing, lovely scenery.
I'm a bit in shock about this. This kind of craziness doesn't usually happen here. Now i've got to admit, no place is really safe...not an Amish schoolhouse, nor a great university in Blacksburg, Va.

RIP NYS Trooper.
Another sad day.

Update...Trooper David Brinkerhoff (29) leaves a widow and 7 month baby.
Trooper Madson was flown to Albany Med. He is expected to have a complete recovery.

The farm house on Cemetary Road (between M'ville and Roxbury) is now on fire. SWAT teams have just rushed the house. Travis Trim is still at large.
Many shots fired.

Morning after...
The farm house is burned to the ground. One body found, not identified.
The people of Margaretville are in "shock".
Condolences for Trooper Brinkerhoff's family, his wife and 7 month old baby girl.
Wishes for a speedy recovery for Trooper Matteson. He was shot in the arm.

"It's a scary future for our kids". That says volumes.

Things have settled down a bit here. I got a chance to talk with a trooper this morning when I was buying my cigars at the local Stewarts. He was there but didn't go inside. He did some interesting pointing to his arm, like he was showing me where the wound was. We both agreed that some crazy things happened.
We didn't get around to talking about Boniac, nor how this mess was going to get "spun". Afterall, this is a very little town, and churches had just let out, and big lines were forming faster than the two Stewart's gals could handle 'em all.
Anyway, here's some more spin......
