![]() To me this is a wager that i am addicted to, i play both nyra pick 4's, whatever the main florida track is, and if i do good during the day whatever the california track is, on a daily basis. I spend anywhere from $8-$48 per ticket, the wager can be heartbreaking i hit 3 out of 4 almost everyday on at least one of my tickets, for example todays late pick 4 at aqueduct i played..... 7/3,5,6,8/2,4/4... this ticket only cost me $8 dollers, i had the money to spend more and go deeper but i felt very good about this ticket. the 6th race was a chalkey key, the 7th i went four deep and cought a 16-1 shot, the 8th i felt very strongly about shuffling maddness and threw carminooch in because of the connections, and then the 9th i get nailed, with another chalkey horse. so what i want to know is does anyone have a angle or a rule or just any advice on playing the pick 4, or is it as simple as having more money to put into it ? also what do you guys think of the actual wager, personally i love it i have hit some big one's, and it seems like you can be 0-60 over a month playing the pick 4 and then you hit one of them and your even, thats why i like the wager so much.

![]() If you want to play this bet, then you need to play a track where you aren't getting ripped of by insiders pounding money into the p4.Take the p4 you said you played at AQU.
The pick 4 paid $472/1 Hell,if you play your own 4 race win parlay it would pay $534/1 Just because of the fact that you pay juice only once(versus 4 times) should get you atleast $600/1 for this p4(minimum.)This better be rare,or you need to bet another track. The late pick 3 paid $353.50/1,and that is o.k.(beats 3 race win parlay by about $50.)My late p4 at Anita on Wednesday was $520/1.The 4 race win parlay was $212/1.........If you want to play p4,then you need to make sure you get rewarded. They should not be paying less than the win parlay. They should be paying about $100 (or more) than the win parlay.Pay attention to these payoffs. |

![]() I play my pick 4's after staring at my good luck picture for 5 minutes without blinking. The numbers come to me like in a dream and I hit at a 98% clip with the average payout being eleventy billion dollars.

Another thing to think about, before declaring the Pick 4 a superior bet, is that you may be forcing yourself to bet on races that you would otherwise have passed. The chance that I would want to bet 4 races sequentially is minute. But someone enamored of the Pick 4 will do that routinely. When there are races in the Pick 4 where you have no capping edge, it may more than offset the single-takeout advantage. --Dunbar
