Default French Film Festival/NYC

Only if you're in NY, and a big film buff, so this may only apply to Genuine Risk, but far and away the best film festival in NY every year is the " Rendez-Vous with French Cinema " at Lincoln Center. Tickets go on sale on-line at noon this coming Monday, filmlinc.com, and the movies sell out VERY quickly. It's the top movies from France from the previous year and I have honestly seen many great movies over the past few years and very few ever get released here.

It's at least worth taking a look at the line-up on the website. I can't recommend this festival enough ( assuming you like foreign movies ).

Any French war classics? "Hands up over Paris" or "Vichy smells fishy"

I saw a great French movie about WWI last year.

Actually there's a really good French film around about the resistance called " Army of Shadows ".

I found one of my favorite movies through that website, Before Sunset.

I chose to ignore it.

I'm far too high brow for that type of ploy.

Although a German film, this was good;

On the subject of French Films, have you seen Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain "Amelie"? We have it at home...but it's sitting there with about 100 other movies yet to watch.

Cool; thanks for the heads' up. I'll check it out. It'll give me a chance to practice my mediocre French.

I liked "Amélie" a great deal, but my favorite French film I saw in the past ten years was "Ponette," which left me a blubbering mess. "Amélie" is considerably lighter!
